It should come as no surprise to anyone that since I am spending 3-4 days a week in a thrift store for business, I am also finding pieces for my own personal wardrobe. Like, a lot of pieces. Including this beautiful Missoni waist tie dress in their classic multi colored stripe pattern. If you were to peek through Missoni's website, you would see that these dresses cost thousands of dollars! I've linked a few below just so you believe me, not because I actually want you to spend that type of money on a dress...
Now that I've shocked your senses, keep scrolling to see how much I paid for mine!
Missoni Dress [secondhand, $8.50] Marc Fisher Navy Block Heels [secondhand, $6.99] Givenchy Clutch Bag [secondhand, $50] Gucci Clubmaster Sunglasses [new, $160] Louis Vuitton Leather Bracelet [secondhand, gift] Chanel Dangle Earrings [secondhand, gift] Hermes Wrap Bracelet [secondhand, $50]
Outfit Total: $275.49
Honestly, my intention was to sell this dress, but once I found a few snags on it I decided to not sell and keep it for myself *poor me* It's nothing a few pieces of thread wouldn't fix! I really love this dress because the pattern is fun while still maintaining a really classic silhouette. I've found a couple secondhand Missoni pieces at a fraction of the retail price below (all under $50!), just click to shop directly!
My favorite shoe right now is definitely a block heel. I think the look is very retro and classic + the thicker heel makes it soooo much easier to go out in versus a stiletto. I'm definitely seeing this style become more popular in stores, but honestly in my opinion these are not a trend but a wardrobe staple that you will be able to wear for years. I've known the Marc Fisher brand from higher end department stores and finding a few pairs to resell here and there, but when I found my favorite type of show in my favorite color for under seven dollars I knew they were mine! I have found similar shoes from Marc Fisher that are on sale if you are looking to add this staple to your own closet! In my opinion these shoes run true to size.
My bag is a Givenchy piece that also has a detachable strap. I scored this on Mercari for a steal, and you can read more about how I got it / authenticated it in my blog post HERE.
These designer bracelets are my every day pieces that I love for dressing up simple outfits. The dark leather bracelet is Louis Vuitton and was brought back for me by my hubs after a business trip (love ya :*) and the Hermes wrap bracelet I scored on Poshmark!
Ahhh, my absolute hands down favorite item in my jewelry box right now! I am so proud of Bjorn because I told him I wanted dangle Chanel earrings for my birthday, signed him up for Poshmark, gave him some pointers and examples, and let him loose! Did he do amazing or what?? They are so classic and neutral for practically any outfit but still add a pop of something special. I LOVE them! When you but secondhand anything off the internet, you always have to be aware that there are fakes out there and should know how to be on the lookout for counterfeit items. Here are a few tips I have for authenticating Chanel earrings when purchasing online:
1. Chanel earrings will have stamps of authenticity on the back, so make sure to ask the buyer for a photo of the back along with what season they are from so you can cross reference the season of the earrings with the stamps used during this time period. 2. Chanel costume jewelry is made with sturdy metals that should very sound and not flimsy or breakable. 3. These pieces are expensive at retail, so everything should be perfect. No smudging, crookedness, etc . 4. Google to see if there were similar pieces to this made by Chanel. 5. Look at the seller's other items for sale and reviews to see if they have satisfied costumers of other designer items and if they are reputable. It's pretty tricky to find anything Chanel at reasonable prices, but I've found a couple of other really cute secondhand Chanel earrings at a much lower price below!

For blogging and reselling, I spend a lotttt of time looking at either my computer screen or phone screen. Even when I am out sourcing I am always looking up comps and responding to offers. I had heard about blue light blocking glasses and wanted to try this out for myself, because I have noticed an increase in headaches and insomnia and there is a lot of research to suggest our screens are behind this. I saw some other bloggers promoting blue light glasses that were upward of $60 and I could just not justify spending that much on a little pair of non-power glasses. I switched my search to Amazon and stumbled upon these from Livho that had amazing reviews! They are under $20 AND have next day shipping!
After wearing them through a full day of thrifting, photography, listing, and shipping I can say these were such a great buy! They are very comfortable and light, like you aren't wearing them at all. I was worried they might make my regular vision blurry, but my vision didn't change whatsoever by wearing these. Plus the shape is so cute and retro! If you are interested in trying these glasses out for yourself just click the pictures above to be taken directly to Amazon!
Ask FOr Three Coats of Color
Whether I am getting regular polish, gel, or dip they usually do two coats of color, but I usually like to ask for one more. I feel the extra layer really creates an extra bond that delays chipping.
Fill In Chips
I'm boring and usually always get the same pink or red colors (I always get major regret with anything else!) so it is easy to keep these basic colors at home and fill in any chips that I may get. Not only does this make the manicure look less raggedy but it also seals the break and makes it less likely to keep breaking off.
Add Clear Polish To New Growth
Ugh one of the most annoying things is when your gel or dip manicure is growing out and the edges near your cuticle start to pop off your nail. When you put your hands through your hair, every strands gets stuck under your mani and it is like nails on a chalkboard feeling. I like to use clear gel polish on these areas to keep them more sealed to my nail so I don't get that horrible feeling + they are less likely to pop off entirely.
Add A Gel Top Coat At HOme
My mom bought me a personal gel lamp which I love to use when I can't make it to the salon, or if I get just a regular manicure I can slap on a quick gel coat on top. It's usually only a couple of days before regular polish starts to chip so this at home gel coat extends the life of the mani for at least a week. I've linked a few below you can purchase through Amazon, prime and under $30! (which is just the cost of one manicure!)
Opt For Shorter Nails
I know those long, coffin nails are in right now but my poor, weak nails just can't manage those that type of length for long. I've found that when I start a mani below the tip of my nail, my gel or dip polish lasts so much longer. My nails actually break underneath the gel/dip and leave just the polish behind!
