I made a promise and now I am ready to deliver! These beautiful suede goodies were a birthday gift from my family but there was a LOT going on behind the scenes to make these possible! So my birthday was approaching and I KNEW I wanted a pair of these OTK boots more than anythinggg. I think they are simple yet sexy and will be classic for many years to come. The only problem? They are $800 retail. I had looked into knock off options but a good quality pair were still over $100 and I just reallyyy wanted the originals, ok? I had been scouring secondhand options on eBay and other thrifting sites for a while and had found a few pairs that I had shared with the hubby that were pretty good steals. I particularly loved this grey pair because the two-toned coloring is unique and the starting bid was at $200. Well...I knew these were supposed to be a birthday gift but I watched these beauties go UNBID ON for THREE AUCTIONS. I was really starting to lose hope on these shoes until I was surprised on my birthday with the beautiful purple box! Turns out that my mom had been tied up on offers for other pairs and was never able to place a bid on these. After the third auction came and went without any bids, the seller was slow to list them again. My sweet husband contacted the seller and asked if they would be willing to sell for the starting bid price of $200, and they accepted! For those who don't feel like doing the math, that's a 3/4 discount! I was so amazed to find that the shoes were in such like new condition. The bottom showed barely any signs of use! A few light stains tell me these may have been a display pair, but they are nothing a professional cleaning can not remove.
Because they are so delicate (and require two people to get in and out of) unfortunately I have only had a few instances to wear them. I hope to change that soon and will definitely share more #ootd including them in the future!
