Unique Stationary with Basic Invite

Let’s flashback to Poshfest 2019… I had ordered one thousand business cards off a well known printing site for networking purposes at the convention. I thought they were cute…until I received multiple business cards from other attendees that looked just like mine! I was stuck with all these generic cards, so I knew the next time I ordered business cards I wanted to make them more unique to ensure my business stands out. I was excited when Basic Invite reached out to me to collaborate because I was able to explore a more personalized way of designing branding content for my business. They offer a number of customizable templates, over 180 different color options, and pretty foil accents!

I also like to keep a set of personal thank you stationary cards in my desk drawer to send to friends and family. I think it is a lot more special to take the time to send a loved one a card instead of a text message. Basic Invite has a number of unique thank you card templates along with options to make them personalized to you. I loved that I could add my name to the cards! They also have 40 different envelope colors, and offer a free address capturing service. If you have a number of thank you cards you need to send out (say from a wedding or graduation) Basic Invite offers a service where they store family and friends addresses that are collected via social media. This information is stored in your account and Basic Invite will print the recipients addresses at no additional costs! Imagine all the time that can save you.

I have also had the experience with other printing services where I design a cute product that looks great online, but when I’ve made a big order and it arrives I am not super pleased with the quality of the design. Now I am stuck with them! But with Basic Invite, you can order a printed sample of your invitation or card before you place your final order to ensure you are happy with the paper quality and how it will print in real life. You can pretty much ensure your card is going to be perfect before placing your order!

Whether you are looking for branded cards and notes for your business, a cute personal stationary set, or high school graduation announcements, I definitely recommend checking out Basic Invite! Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code 15FF51 and you can check them at www.basicinvite.com or @basicinvite on social media.

EASY DIY Modern Bathroom Abstract Wall Art

5/18/2020

While other states have been open for weeks, the lovely state of California is still very much in shelter in place. I'm definitely bored, so what have I resorted to? Painting butts.
Picture
One of my favorite bloggers, Kathleen Barnes/Carrie Bradshaw Lied, shared on her instagram about this project she was doing to keep herself busy, and I loved it! I had been researching modern / abstract bathroom art, but redecorating is EXPENSIVE so I loved seeing a DIY project I could try. I definitely recommend practicing and drawing out a sketch butt with a sharpie before attacking a piece of paper with paint. Once you break down the picture into single lines, it's actually pretty easy! When it came time to paint I just traced my best sharpie practice butt. (I've never typed "butt" this many times and I'm loving it.) I think it makes for cool modern bathroom art!

The only paintbrushes we had were for walls and big paint projects, so I ordered this 10 piece set off Amazon for $7.99. I also got this frame set, 10 frames for only $33.99! Thats only $3.39 a frame, which is a killer deal. Great for a collage wall!
I had so much fun with the butt (lol) that I decided to get all artsy and take a stab at a few more paintings! A number of them went straight into the bin but I did like how two ended up! Hubs said we could hang them up in the garage (lol) but I convinced him to hang them in our living room. :)

My Favorite Product For Easy & Full Brows

Confession time - in middle school I plucked out nearly all my eyebrows :O I had only these tiny little lines above my eyes...I looked like a cartoon, and I can't stand to look at photos of myself from age 12-14. Due to this, my eyebrows are kind of patchy, and I rarely have to pluck because I'm thinking I caused some lifelong damage to the hair follicles...

Before:

Ever since then I have been obsessed with filling in my brows and trying to get them to *look* full. I have tried a LOT of products, but the one I've been using for the past 7 years that I've found to be the easiest to get full, bushier brows has been MAC's tinted brow gel. See the difference below!
*free shipping and returns!*

Its super easy!

This has been the only non-drugstore make up product I have been buying for years. I've tried drugstore eyebrow gels from Revlon and Elf, but they just don't seem to give me the same shape, and definitely weren't lasting all day. The MAC  product color and gel lasts all day, and the color spreads really easily and evenly. $23 is a lot for an eyebrow gel (to me at least) but the product really goes a long way. I typically only have to buy a new one every 4-5 months, plus I save up the tubes to return to MACs recycling program for a free lipstick. You can read more about that program and how it works HERE.

Prada Belt DIY - How To Get Designer Belts Cheap

5/1/2020

Picture
A designer belt is a great way to posh up a bread and butter outfit. The last two designer belts I've purchased was a GG Gucci belt from an outlet mall...
Picture
<--- this one! For $60!
...and the one I most recently bought is a black elastic Prada waist belt for under $40 off Poshmark!
Picture
The thing these belts both have in common is that they were wayyy too big when I originally bought them. You can get a lot of clothing items altered, but the great thing about belts is that they are so easy to alter yourself, or super cheap to take into a cobbler! The Gucci belt was way too long, so I took it into a shoe cobbler who only charged me $5 to add a couple more holes and trim the end of the belt off.
Picture
The Prada belt consists of an elastic piece that I had to take about six inches of material away from. I didn't want to actually cut up the elastic band in the event I wanted to do anything different with the belt in the future (or gained weight lol) so what I did is, I sewed u where I would want the belt to end with dental floss, then sewed down the ends for a cleaner look. Almost looks like a bow!
A great way to find some killer designer deals is to start looking outside your usual size!
