Happy Wednesday! I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday weekend filled with fun and food, and maybe got to check out a Black Friday sale or two! I definitely did, and while I certainly had the intentions of picking up gifts for others, I might've ended up with one for me...sorry not sorry! I've been looking for a quilted vest for a while, they are so cute for winter without being too warm, which is super perfect for Southern California! I knew that J. Crew made really high quality vests, but they generally start at around $100 (which is a lot for a sleeveless jacket, am I right??) While we were at the outlet mall for post-Thanksgiving sales, I decided to take a peak through the J. Crew outlet store to just see what kind of deals they were offering. While the store was still having 50% off EVERYTHING, their regularly priced vests were still around $50, which was way more than I wanted to spend. However, as I wandered through the sale section I saw a small collection of pink vests and was so surprised to find one left in my size! Sale was an additional 50% so I ended up getting this piece at $25! Total savings: 75% off J. Crew vest {new, $25}, Banana Republic long sleeved top {new, $10}, Levi jeans {new, $20], Gucci flats {new, gift}, Louis Vuitton crossbody {secondhand, $100}, Rayban Aviators {new, $90}, Michael Kors watch {new, gift} Outfit total: $245 I was so surprised to find such a cute color in the clearance section because I think it can go with so many other colors! While I love it with the all white here for a more put together, I also think the pink would look great with black, navy, brown, whatever! Well, maybe not more pink...maybe for Valentine's Day. ;) So in love with my Black Friday fancy find! Have your own success? Would love to hear about it in the comments below, or tag me on IG @fancyfreeblog!

Happy Friday, and happy official start to the holiday season! It is now socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music, bake and eat to your heart's content, and make your own holiday wish lists! I'm super guilty of already starting the latter, and I'm sharing a few tips I go by when others ask what I want for gifts. I love to be very specific (pictures, serial numbers, you get the idea) because a) it makes it so much easier on the gift giver and 2. you know you will be getting something you have been wanting/needing! When it comes to items on those lists, I always make sure to include the following three items: High-end BeautyI LOVE Chanel lip products, but prices are pretty steep ($30 here) and items like this (Dior, Armani, YSL) SO rarely go on sale. Classic perfumes also tend to be in high demand and never make it to the sale rack. I would definitely recommend making sure to include a few of these higher end beauty items on your list to stock up on for the rest of year. Fine Jewelry Similar to the beauty items above, classic jewelry pieces (like the ones from Tiffany & Co pictured above) never go on sale, and it is incredibly hard to find legit secondhand pieces that are in a nice shape. Also, the thought of putting earrings in my own ears that have been in other ears just totally puts me off. I got the pictured necklace and earrings as gifts on separate occasions, and it is great to know they are authentic, in pristine condition, and don't contain ear germs, you feel me? Designer Wardorbe StaplesWhile I have bought quite a few designer wardrobe staple pieces secondhand, these items tend to be worn frequently, and they will obviously last you longer when they are purchased brand new. These classic tops from Burberry are favorites of mine, and were also received as gifts in the past. The black polo has been in my closet for nearly 8 years! While pricey, you are definitely getting your money's worth in the longterm as the quality is so high. These are definitely great pieces to invest in for you closet, and receiving these as gifts allows you to focus more on your #fancyfinds! :)
My main takeways from this post is to make sure you plan, know what you need, and not be afraid to utilize the your wishlist to get those items that just never go on sale! Hi all! As you've see from social media and my last post, the hubby and I were in Palm Springs the past weekend and we had such a blast! Check out our incredibly colorful hotel, a racing adventure, and some serious gorgeous desert footage below! Fancy Free is now on Bloglovin'! Make sure to click the link above so you never miss a new post or video! Happy Monday lovelies! Today is especially sweet because I get to go through and reminiscence about our fun, whirlwind weekend! The hubby signed up for a race at Chuckwalla Raceway, and while we were out that way we thought we would spend a night in Palm Springs since we are so lame and haven't been once in the four years we have lived in CA! We went out for drinks and dinner downtown, and I wore my newest little dress that I've just been looking for an excuse to wear. Banana Republic silk dress [new, $8], Jimmy Choo pumps [secondhand, $60], Rebecca Minkoff studded bag [new, $55] Outfit total: $123 You read that correctly...I only paid $8 for this beautiful rosey nightgown-esque slip dress! I've actually had my eye on this dress since it came out at the beginning of summer, but the price tag was well over $100. While browsing through BR last week, I found this very last one on the rack and grabbed it immediately! I was skeptical at first, because this is actually a petite size. I was worried it would look disproportional on my very not petite frame (I'm 5'8" yo). But I found it only hit me a few inches shorter than the regular version, which I actually liked even more! So yeah, made a beeline from the dressing room to the cash register and claimed this little number mine! These Jimmy Choo pumps...my most prized eBay purchase to date. I wasn't too sure which bag I wanted to pair with this outfit, and originally thought I should go with something delicate and feminine, to flow with the dress. However, I love how this silver studded bag breaks up the lace-y monotony and adds a little edge. Face: Clinique, Brows: MAC, Eyes: Too Faced, Lips: Estee Lauder We had such a blast on our quick weekend getaway, keep your eyes peeled for more details of our little adventure, coming soon!
