I would say that outside of The Office, my favorite thing to watch is a good true crime documentary. There are the big docs like Conversations with a Killer and Making a Murderer that get a lot of hype, but I've stumbled upon lesser known docs that are also chilling and eye opening! Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite underrated true crime documentaries. The Case Against Adnan SyedThis doc follows the appeal process of Adnan Syed, who is convicted of killing his high school ex-girlfriend. Hulu Theres Something Wrong With Aunt DianeWhen Diane Schuler is found to have a high blood alcohol content after driving the wrong way on the highway, killing herself and the children in her car, the warning signs and possible motives are explored. Amazon Prime Reflections Of The PastTwo teenage girls in New Zealand during the 1950s become obsessed with each other, and when threatened with separation, turn to murder. Amazon Prime I Love You Now DieThis documentary explores the culpability of teenager Michelle Carter for egging on her boyfriend to suicide, and where responsibility and blame should fall. Hulu The Most Dangerous Animal Of AllWhen a man who was adopted as a baby is reconnected with his birth mother, he learns many details that lead him to believe his dad may have been the famous bay area Zodiac Killer. Amazon Prime Abducted In Plain SightA neighbor worms his way into the trust of the family next door, which ultimately leads to him kidnapping their adolescent daughter TWICE. Netflix Amanda KnoxI was young when the Amanda Knox trial came about, so this documentary was interesting to see all the details and ways the Italian police messed up the investigation. Netflix Evil Genius: The True Story of Americas Most Diabolical Bank HeistAlso known as the "collar bomb" case, this doc explores the bizarre bank robbery that ended with the death of the "robber" after a collar he was wearing exploded. Netflix The StaircaseWhen his wife is found dead at the bottom of the stairs, the husband is the main suspect, but there are a lot of interesting turns and theories. Netflix God Knows Where I AmWhen a woman is found starved to death in an abandoned house, her diary reveal her tragic final months. Amazon Prime

Happy Monday! Weekends are for chilling, and if you spent yours binging the entire new season of Stranger Things (moi) you probably are wondering where you are going to find your next fix. That is why I wanted to break away from my traditional posts and share *a few* of the amazing shows I've been streaming lately that are still off the radar. You're welcome! If you love a good revenge storyDoctor Foster, Netflix Dr. Foster is a loved doctor with the perfect family and life. But when she finds a mystery blonde hair on her husband's scarf, everything changes and she's out for blood. I've watched the first season, consisting of 5 episodes, a few times. Oops. The second season has already been produced, and I can't wait for it to become available to stream! When you are all about the mysteryTop of the Lake, Hulu Love everything Elizabeth Moss, so while Handmaids Tale is on hiatus, I found this show and am so obsessed. Season 1 finds Moss as a detective in New Zealand who becomes tied up with the case of a missing pregnant 12 year old girl. The ensuing season is the ups and downs of finding the girl, all while Moss's character comes to grips with her violent past. Aside from the gripping story, the backdrop of New Zealand is SO gorgeous, making me totally add this country to my travel list. When its time for a feel-good showYounger, Hulu I know I've blabbed about this show before, but it is literally so adorable and I can't believe more people haven't heard of it! Basically, the chick in the chair is a 40 year old divorcee mom looking to make it back into the publishing field after a long hiatus of raising her daughter. No one will hire her, so she reinvents herself as a 26 year in order to scoop up an assistant gig. Pretty much, constant hilarity ensues as she attempts to maintain the persona as she makes friends and falls in love. On a side note, Sutton Foster is *actually* in her forties but pulls off her 20s so well. Goals! For Fellow Psych Geeks Like MyselfMindhunter, Netflix Im still in the process of finishing up the first season, but the psychology nerd inside of me is totally eating this up! An FBI hostage expert gets the human behavior bug and sets out on a mission to discover why people commit the horrible crimes that they do. Please note that while this show is interesting, it is also very graphic. If you prefer not to see copious amounts of blood or naked human bodies, this show is definitely not for you. If you are all about that witty Banter Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amazon Ok you guys this show is the one I'm very most excited about! From the beautiful mind of Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls!!!) comes Miriam "Midge" Maisel, the perfect 1960s NYC housewife who supports her husband at night with his comedy stand up dreams. When he bombs one night on stage and ends up leaving her for his secretary, Midge finds she is actually the one with the comedy chops. There is currently only the pilot available now to watch, but in just a few short weeks we will have the entire season!
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope I could enable my fellow bingers out there! Have a show you are loving? Enable this binger also with a comment below. :) |
