Fancy Fun: Anaheim Packing House

SoCal followers!

I just recently discovered the Anaheim Packing House in the heart of dntn Anaheim, but since then we've visited this fun spot a number of times and it never disappoints!

The building dates back to the early 1900s when it was a fruit packing house, but it has since been updated and modernized (hello giant rooster statues!) to house a number of fun pop-up style bars and restaurants with everything from a grilled cheese bar to a speak easy. Essentially, it is a high end, adult food court. I still have a number of places to try and foods to scarf, but I've linked a few of the delish spots I have tried so far! Keep scrolling!

Zara Dress [new, $20], Banana Republic Wedges [secondhand, $15], Louis Vuitton Crossbody [secondhand, $100], Burberry Sunglasses [secondhand, $35]

How beautiful is the inside??

Even there are so many spots to try, I couldn't help but come back to the Vietnamese joint Sawleaf Cafe. The pho is just too good (tip: I always ask for extra limes!), and the sweet potato fries are really the best I've tried anywhere (make sure to get the sauce on top!)

Thanks for reading, I just had to share this little gem if you are ever in the area!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

We have all been busy with everything that comes along with this time of year, so I haven't been able to share a few great finds I have added to my closet the past few weeks.

Keep scrolling for a few items I am really excited about!

Burberry Trench [secondhand, $80] Banana Republic Tee [new, $10] Banana Republic Jeans [new, $20] Banana Republic Suede Slides [new, $20] YSL Clutch [secondhand, $35] Chanel Cat Eye Sunglasses [secondhand, $35]

Nothing too major, but I'm loving this versatile tee from Banana Republic. It's 100% linen, the perfect length for wearing out or tucked in, and has a cute little pocket! (not pictured) I actually stocked up on a few of these tops when they were on clearance at Banana Republic for only $10! It's a classic wardrobe item that is great with jeans and slides or a skirt and heels. Perfect!
Picture
SUPER excited about this perfect little clutch here. I bought this bag via eBay after making a Buy It Now best offer that was accepted. It is not “main brand” YSL as it was actually a gift with purchase for their perfume. But the front stitching matches other popular YSL items, and there is even “Yves Saint Laurent” written on the zipper and the inside of the bag. The quality is high and the bag is perfect for fitting your phone and other essentials without being too bulky.

If you follow my Instagram story you saw these suede slides a few weeks back after a fun afternoon at South Coast Plaza (amazing mall in the OC with everything from H&M to Nordstrom and Louis Vuitton) I bought them new at Banana Republic on clearance with an additional 50% off, additional 10% off for cardholders, and $5 reward. I love the little heel that adds some glam while still being so easy to wear around.
Picture
Ive had these jeans for ages, but I have to add that Banana Republic jeans just do NOT disappoint. They have just enough stretch to be comfortable without ever being baggy or stretching out. If you are looking for a new pair, I definitely recommend trying on a pair at BR!

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you think below, and be on the lookout for my next post all about my favorite holiday outfit!

#ootd: How to Shop Smart For Low-End Fashion

11/16/2017

Wouldn't it be just fabulous to be one of those few people that has top to bottom high end designer items in their closet?

For us living in the real world with regular jobs, that just really isn't a possibility. For trend items or everyday staples that we wear through, sometimes it is just not possible to drop serious $$ to fill up our closets.

When shopping lower end stores (i.e. H&M, Forever 21, Target, etc.) you have to make smart shopping choices, even when prices are low. Yeah this spandex/rayon/polyester blend tee is cute, but when it pills after 1 wash and you have to buy another, the cheap item is now costing you more money. Keep scrolling to see how I mix low-high end items and what to look for when shopping to make sure you won't end up paying more in the long run.

H&M Striped Dress [new, $18], Banana Republic Suede Booties [new, $25]. Louis Vuitton Crossbody [secondhand, $100], Burberry Cat Eye Sunglasses [secondhand, $40]
When I’m incorporating a low end item like this dress, I like to spice up the outfit with more classic, high end accessory items. I feel as if it makes the dress look more expensive, adding more quality to your ensemble. Had this bag been a faux leather, plastic strap bag, I think the outcome would have been a lot different. Overall, I think you get more bang for your buck even for a $17 dress like this!

I bought this dress from H&M, which is a place I really have a love/hate relationship with. It’s a fun place to explore because they have so many pieces, especially knock off high fashion fads, but when it comes to quality it’s really a hit or miss.

I'm always on the hunt for a classic, everyday dress and during one of my recent H&M visits I came across this fun stripe-y little piece. Before I let myself fall too in love, I first checked the inside info tag for material. I’m always looking for a majority of natural materials, and if it’s a complicated concoction of man-made nonsense I immediately put it back. This dress was 100% cotton, yay!
Picture
Next I always look over for any stitching mistakes or pre-existing malfunctions, like a hole or pull of material. These items don’t go through a nearly in depth inspection (if any) like other higher brands, so it’s important to make sure the item is in good shape.
Picture
I know it’s daunting and exhausting, but I really do recommend trying on clothes before you buy them. Items at stores like H&M are made across many different countries and factories with differing dimensions, even for the exact same product! A small in one dress will fit differently than a small in another style. Yeah you can always return it if it doesn’t fit, but we all know you are going to put it somewhere in your closet and there is no way it will ever see the inside of that store again, so save yourself the money and stress and make sure it fits before you buy.

Thanks so much reading!

Beauty With Sano Naturals

11/13/2017

Picture
I recently discovered the beauty company Sano Naturals, who offers fun beauty boxes that include all natural, rejuvenating Korean face masks. Isn't everyone else always on the hunt for a good face mask??

In particular, I am totally head over heels for Sano's saengsomi healing gel mask, which is anti-aging. I may not have wrinkles yet, but I love how it leaves my skin just so soft, bright, and glowing!
Picture
Some beauty regimens can be complicated, but using this product is so easy.

Before applying, make sure to start with a clean palette (aka your face). Using the adorable paintbrush included with the face mask, apply the product all over, obviously excluding yours eyes and mouth.
Picture
(so easy!)
Leave product on face for 10-15 minutes.
Picture
Pro tip: Make sure to avoid moving your face too much to maximize the effect.

After the mask is dry and set, wash off with lukewarm water and pat face dry. Voila!
Picture
If you are interested in trying out this face mask for yourself, run don't walk on over to http://www.sanosilkmask.com/ because they are currently offering 30% off your first face mask in honor of their K2Slay launch!

5 Shows To Stream Now!

Happy Monday!

Weekends are for chilling, and if you spent yours binging the entire new season of Stranger Things (moi) you probably are wondering where you are going to find your next fix. That is why I wanted to break away from my traditional posts and share *a few* of the amazing shows I've been streaming lately that are still off the radar. You're welcome!

If you love a good revenge story

Picture
Doctor Foster, Netflix
Dr. Foster is a loved doctor with the perfect family and life. But when she finds a mystery blonde hair on her husband's scarf, everything changes and she's out for blood. I've watched the first season, consisting of 5 episodes, a few times. Oops. The second season has already been produced, and I can't wait for it to become available to stream!

When you are all about the mystery

Picture
Top of the Lake, Hulu
Love everything Elizabeth Moss, so while Handmaids Tale is on hiatus, I found this show and am so obsessed. Season 1 finds Moss as a detective in New Zealand who becomes tied up with the case of a missing pregnant 12 year old girl. The ensuing season is the ups and downs of finding the girl, all while Moss's character comes to grips with her violent past. Aside from the gripping story, the backdrop of New Zealand is SO gorgeous, making me totally add this country to my travel list.

When its time for a feel-good show

Picture
Younger, Hulu
I know I've blabbed about this show before, but it is literally so adorable and I can't believe more people haven't heard of it! Basically, the chick in the chair is a 40 year old divorcee mom looking to make it back into the publishing field after a long hiatus of raising her daughter. No one will hire her, so she reinvents herself as a 26 year in order to scoop up an assistant gig. Pretty much, constant hilarity ensues as she attempts to maintain the persona as she makes friends and falls in love. On a side note, Sutton Foster is *actually* in her forties but pulls off her 20s so well. Goals!

For Fellow Psych Geeks Like Myself

Picture
Mindhunter, Netflix
Im still in the process of finishing up the first season, but the psychology nerd inside of me is totally eating this up! An FBI hostage expert gets the human behavior bug and sets out on a mission to discover why people commit the horrible crimes that they do. Please note that while this show is interesting, it is also very graphic. If you prefer not to see copious amounts of blood or naked human bodies, this show is definitely not for you.

If you are all about that witty Banter

Picture
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amazon
Ok you guys this show is the one I'm very most excited about! From the beautiful mind of Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls!!!) comes Miriam "Midge" Maisel, the perfect 1960s NYC housewife who supports her husband at night with his comedy stand up dreams. When he bombs one night on stage and ends up leaving her for his secretary, Midge finds she is actually the one with the comedy chops. There is currently only the pilot available now to watch, but in just a few short weeks we will have the entire season!

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope I could enable my fellow bingers out there! Have a show you are loving? Enable this binger also with a comment below. :)
