We all have seen our favorite bloggers and celebrities that share their favorite beauty items and how awesome they are, but when you look more into these products you find out they are often in the triple digits! I don't think these products are realistic for most people (including moi) and I don't really think our skin really needs all those products. It knows what it's doing! So I thought I would share my every day beauty go-to's that I have been using for years and I have found to be super effective PLUS cheap! Nivea Creme, $5.15 I've talked about my love for Nivea before, but I have been using this stuff through out my twenties every night as a thick mask and it just feels sooo gooood. It's like I can actually feel my wrinkles soaking it up! Back when I was a teenager whenever I had a break out, I would try to use one of the many "zit zapping" products, but those just left my skin dried out and dull. If I get a pimple now I make sure to moisturize it super well and by the next morning it is significantly less red and noticeable! Olay Complete Moisturizer with SPF, $6.94 I have been using Olay's complete spf moisturizer since I was 14 (thank you mom!!) and I think a lot of the reason why I am not already a pruney mess (I am super pale and have only lived in super hot, sunny places for the last half of my life) is because I have been protecting my skin from the sun all this time! Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser, $5.96 Another product from my high school days. I love to use this product in the morning because the vitamin C really wakes up my skin and the beads scrub my skin and make it shiny and healthy looking! Trader Joe's Organic Coconut Oil, $8.99 This is one of the newer items in my skin care repertory but I like to rub it into my skin at night time as a deep moisturizer! I let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour and then wash away any additional oil. While I'm at it I also run a (very small!) dab through my hair as well! Not only is it super hydrating but it smells sooo good. Bonus! This is not really a skin care product, but water is such a cheap and easy way to get great skin! Up until my mid 20s, I was drinking multiple diet sodas a day. SO bad for me! And my skin showed it. I was slowly able to phase out soda with the help of tea and lemonades, and now drink sparkling water nonstop and love it! Not only is it healthier for me, but my skin has improved sooo much. Minus any major stressors, I rarely break out! And if I do break down and have a soda, my skin definitely shows it the next few days.
Thanks so much for reading! I would love to hear your own cheap skin care product must haves. Leave me a comment below!
