Happy Hump Day! It's been a while, but since I'm still hustling that 9-5 grind, I thought I would share another one of my go-to outfits for the workplace! Burberry Cashmere Sweater [secondhand, $44], Banana Republic High Waist Flare Trousers [new, $15], Banana Republic Cork Wedges [secondhand, $15], Burberry Trench Coat [secondhand, $90], Louis Vuitton Crossbody [secondhand, $100], Burberry Cat Eye Sunglasses [secondhand, $44] Outfit total: $294 I've had this sweater since earlier in the year, but it just hasn't had the opportunity to make its way to the blog because, well, #tripledigittemps. But finally the heat wave here is SoCal is breaking and it looks like we may be experiencing some sort of fall after all. I found this gem on eBay auction-style, and in typical Sydney fashion bidded like a jerk within the last few seconds. But hey, cashmere Burberry under $50 is just too hard to pass up. While this is an older season item, a similar sweater HERE is over 10X the price. What you can't really see in these pics are the perfect little details that really make the sweater so classic. Over the shoulders are the classic Burberry Nova Check, and on the bottom left of the sweater is the Burberry emblem stitched into the material. The sweater has some slight signs of wear in the material, as some spots around the front and underarms have started to my pill. For such high end pieces like this, with some patience and the right tools (like HERE), someone's pilled sweater is your new treasure. My freshman year of college, I had the *chicest* English Lit professor that always looked so put together. Her daily wardrobe? Flare trousers and wedges. To this day, I have always found the combo so body flattering, elongating, and just a super easy way to look put together when you are a raging #hotmess. Especially in the workplace, a well tailored trouser with some sort of wedge or heel + button up is a super easy but effective way to look like you know what you are doing (even when you definitely don't.)
Thank you for reading! There hasn't been a work wear post in a while, but if this is something that interests you let me know in the comments below so I can start planning more posts in the future!
